Very Nice (Not Granny) Net Curtains (and cheap!!)

    I buy all my nets from linens direct. They are more like voile than net. They have a website www.lduk.co.uk but don't show many nets on there. Much better selection if you visit the store if you have one near you. They do a lot of cheap off cuts too that are quite big. Only thing I find with getting my voiles off the roll is that you have to tape or sew the sides as they fray.


    When I buy net curtains I buy 4 times the width of the window, is that about right, or is there some secret formula. 1a_y_smile.gif


    I think you just double the width of the window measurement. :D

    ikea do netting for 50p/m, and netting is really easy to hem by hand, or you can just use bondaweb (again ikea sell this really cheaply)

    i usually go for 2 times the width, else they are too thick to see out of

    although as you say, net is a bit granny, so i tend to use voile - ikea and glynn webb are both cheap for ready made voile curtains, but the ikea include a roll of bondaweb, ready to adjust the length

    Thanks everyone lots to go on. And big thanks to woby i will pop down to mostyns this weekend. I always forget about that place cos its right down the other end of the high street and a bit out of the way.

    I thought you were ment to double it???? SO if your window was 1 meter wide you would buy 2 meters of net??? Or am i totally wrong on that as well?? :confused:
