Hi
Can anyone tell me if the 'Free' Travel Insurance which comes with some Credit Cards is actually worth using.
Thank you
TM

Depends which one, I have free Travel insurance of some description with my bank account, but for 5'er a month, as well as mobile insurance / car rescure im sure its "cut" downin some description, worth comparing to a proper travel policy.0

It depends whether it is actually travel insurance (in which case it's probably worthwhile) or just personal accident insurance for the particular journey you have booked with the card. Still worthwhile but doesn't replace proper insurance which you should have as well.
I have free travel insurance (with my bank account, not credit card) and it's definitely worth having. The cover is reasonable and claims payments have been excellent.0 -
In November last year I switched my on-line current account with A&L to A&L Premier 50. They offer Travel Insurance with no age limit. I'm over 70 and I travel (drive) on the continent every year. Other travel Insurance stops at 70. For this A&L charges account fee of £10 per month. But they pay over 5% up to £2500 in the account. Any comments?0

Hi All
Thanks for your responses. The card I used to purchase my Airline Tickets was a Capital One Card (as recommended by Martin). This card offers Travel Assistance and Travel Insurance if the card is used to purchase at least 75% of the total cost of Transport/Accomodation.
I just wondered if I still needed 'normal' Travel Insurance or if this will suffice.
Thanks for any advice
