I've not put heating on yet but might do later as it's pretty chilly in the evenings:snow_laug
Look at finances and see what improvements/adjustments I can make to get debt down a bit quicker, not a lot of room for manoeuvre to be honest but worth a look anyways:think: :wall:

    Today I have:
Set up a DD to pay my council tax- and it starts beg. July! Double payment but that means more off my debt more quickly this month!
Paid 115.61 off my credit card via internet banking. Now owe £38!!! Should pay off next week!!!!!!
Got and checked my credit card statement- where predicted interest is, it says £2.72!!! It has NEVER been so low!!!!!
I will have tea at work, so will dh- who I spoke to about budgets last night.
I said if he wants to spend a small amount of money on taxis then he can- but it comes out of the socializing budget! So it's up to him if he'd rather go out for dinner etc. or get a cab home- funnily enough he went for the dinner option... MEN!

    NSD today!
    Doing extra shift at work!
Poor Klaine- it's horrid when a day goes pear shaped. Step away from the credit card!!!!
I've just got back from work and managed to get £4.80 in tips and pick up an extra shift tomorrow- 4 extra hours. I'll be working 14 hours straight! Ahhhhhh. BUT I go on mat leave next week Sat. 8am so I keep telling myself that! It's my last chance to earn some dosh for a bit and will bring my DFD forward a bit. So yay!
Have sone onepoll surveys and e-mailed Mum to refer me to A&L to set up account (not if you have to pay tho! Will check) and hopefully get £25 each! I hope!
Checked online banking again and my cc money has gone out. Not showing online cc yet but should do maybe tomorrow or the next day hopefully.

Klane, sounds like you need a night off from it all, dfw wil be there tomorrow for you, so take some time out for you. It can be really disheartening when you've worked so hard to sort things out and then feel like due to one thing or another, your getting no where. Just remember though that these costs will crop up and at least you haven't increased your debts.

Now go get that wine out the freezer, put your feet up and get the kids or partner to give your back a nice rub/massage!

    - It is not a DFW day for me unfortunately... took the car in for an MOT this morning, and it ended up costing over £200. And my car tax was also due this month, so just paid £35 for that as well. Feels a bit like all my hard work this month has been pointless - everything I clawed back, has just had to be spent again. :( So incredibly demotivating.

I think I just need a night off from thinking so intently about money.

Best wishes, klane. I think you do need a night off and just come back tomorrow.

Try and look at how much you have achieved and think how much more difficult it would be to pay out for the MOT and the other bills, if you hadn't been cutting back and being a DFW! :T

Hope tomorrow is a better one for you. xx

    As for me -

I've managed to avoid the supermarket today - even though the fridge is nearly bare and my five year old asked where all the food was tonight! :D

Picked up a copy of the Sun newspaper today as they are running a promotion all week with a £5 off a £30 spend at Morrisons. (Each day's voucher is valid for a different week so I just need to keep them safe until they're valid!)

Ordered £40 of Argos vouchers from Consumer Pulse. (For SILs wedding next month, unfortunately, not treats for self.) :(

Placed a bet on the football using a free bet offer. All the excitement - no risk.

Completed a couple of online surveys.

    Hello!
Not spent a thing and even got a free lunch because there were lots of sandwiches left over from a big meeting at work!

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.
  • Hello all

big hugs to klane - what a nightmare cars are. Mine has to go for an MOT next week and I've had to pay road tax £120 this month so I know exactly what it feels like, and insurance is due soon

I think that sometimes trying to hold on to it all is a bit much and we have to forgive ourselves for not being perfect

after all ( in the words of someone else, Churchill I think):

    Success is not final;
    Failure is not fatal;
It is the courage to continue that counts.

You have done so well - give yourself permission to have a bad day and then get back on the horse tomorrow. Hope that's not too rambly!

Jak - wish my CC interest was £2.72 - well done :T

Everyone here does so much and pushes so hard to be DF - when I feel too tired and fed up to bother I come on here for a second wind - I'm really grateful we are all on the journey together, so thanks to you all.:A
    Getting there...slowly! :D

    GC : must do better
    NSD: very rare

No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.
