What Stores Take What Coupons?

Options
Why don't we all give our experiences here of what stores (i.e. Lincoln, etc) accept coupons and what their policies are (i.e. no internet coupons, upto 10%, 50%, etc)

If you want you can PM me and I will post your info. I will try and consildiate the info posted into an A-Z list aswell. If there are any discrepencies please post or PM me.

Summary:

Asda

Grimsby (Asda):- Seem to take most vouchers without any problem. Max amount unknown, although a person using 10% seemed to have no problem.

Trafford Park (Asda):- Seem to be strict with the 10% Rule. Although, the "Asda Customer Service Training Manual" says otherwise. Acceptance of Printed vouchers from the web, etc seems variable.

TESCO

Edinburgh Corstorphine (Tesco):- Self Service Check-Outs seems to accept Manufacturers Vouchers Well (Remember at some Tesco's Stores staff have to approve vouchers going through the self service checkout, so be careful)

Glasgow Argyle Street (Tesco Metro):- Customer Services are well aware of policy. They say that only one identical coupon can be used. However, they don't mind the shopping being split up into smaller chunks. Checkout operators are aware of the policies and seem to just scan anything.

  • In my experience, Daventry store just outside Northampton, have taken any and all coupons including ones printed from the internet. Prices are generally a little higher than Tesco & Asda as the quality of food is closer to M&S. Taking into account coupon discounts, my weekly shop is cheaper than going to Tesco who are much more picky on coupons.

    Hope this helps

Went to Tesco Corstorphine (EDINBURGH) and used the self service checkout.

    It accepted 5 x £1 Muller vouchers/coupons and 7 x £1 Huggies vouchers/coupons.

    So £35 shopping for £23

    Nae bother!

  • i thought it would be useful also to get an idea what type of cashiers do every one go for at the checkout? is it random (ie. smallest queue) as i know i do not favour well with the middle aged or older females they 100% refuse and question if i had bought any of the products, its just not worth the embarrassment. younger ladies tend to adopt a more open attitude... what do you people say when you pass the coupons over? Its just funny how it works for some and not others, does it depend on the checkout assistant!! Any tips or tatics on difficult hitlers? is it worth getting into a debate about it as i would rather give them the cash then to be looked on as a parasite!

Is this Daventry Tesco Asda or what?
  • I use the asda store in Grimsby which seems to take most vouchers as long as they are in date.

I never use any more than about 7 or 8 quids worth though on a 70 - 80 pound shop.

I remember trying years ago to use some internet printed vouchers and they wouldnt take them......said they had never seen them before.!!

I just tend to try and pick a friendly face........have a natter whilst im packing my shopping and then just hand over my coupons saying..........can i use these coupons please and not getting shirty if any are refused.
    Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £60

Asda in Trafford Park are quite strict about their 10% coupon rule, but I do manage to get 1 or 2 printed ones in there most weeks.

    Hope that helps someone.

  • I only ever use one voucher for each product and generally not for more than 25% of the value of my shop. Ive found the younger staff play on the safe side and dont take them-the older ones are more familiar with store policy. Lady cashier in waitrose asked if i minded her checking the other day to which i replied"by all means". A supervisor/manager came, had a look at them(printed off my pc)said as long as they are manafacturer coupons thats fine. Leos only took them if id bought the products. Tesco only take one extra coupon-you need to buy the rest. This is Portishead and Clevedon nr Bristol.Asda at Bedminster AMAZED me-cashier actually asked if I had any coupons I wanted to use!!!!!!! :j :j :j :j :j :j
