claim hb and maternity benefit.

hey guys, just wondering, me and my wife currently claim hb. i am s/e on 12k turnover and about 4k profit a year and she is employed by me at 500 a month. So 10k profit altogether. (gives us 200 a month housing benefit.)

Baby is due soon and she will be claiming maternity benefit. at 112 a week. Anyone know how this is viewed by council, will it affect our award? I understand ma is classed as a benefit rather than earnings. From past experience I know they like to make a meal out of things as It took me months to claim through my s/e status as I had no books or accounts (went bankrupt in 07 so no accounts or bank statements). should I prepare for trouble when I tell them or will it be straight forward?
really rely on the hb and dont want to lose it.

Thanks bvc.
