    Hi

No its not allowed ( to sell off ebay ) but saying that it does happen.

Why dont you put a buy it now ( BIN ) on the item and inform the person that you have done this.
They can then buy at the agreed price.

  • you are allowed to add a buy it Now price and end the listing early to him through ebay.

completing the sale, off ebay, is not allowed.
  • Not allowed, but how are Ebay going to prove it wasn't ended due to the item being "no longer available for sale"

However adding Buy-It-Now is safer all round for both you the seller, and matey the buyer. However I don't see if Ebay have had their listing fee money why they can't be viewed as simply a large national classifieds publication. ;)

    Usual disclaimers apply {cough!]

Well you can withdraw and item 12 hours or more before it ends, so yes if he wants it just remove from bidding..I don't see a problem

Although it is possible to withdraw an item early, going on and selling it to an interested ebay user outside of the ebay system is against ebays T&Cs. There are two reasons for this:- Firstly, it's fee avoidance and ebay are obviously not going to be happy about that. Secondly, and more importantly, there is no protection for the buyer if this happens.

Now, I'm not questioning the OP's honesty at all here, but if they completed the sale outside ebay, they could pocket the money and not send the item and the buyer would be left high and dry. Buyers who want to do this sort of thing should explicity request a buy-it-now price to be added so that they don't open themselves up to being scammed.

Yeah i guess in cases like that, but i'm selling an item on ebay which is also advertised elsewhere and i've stated that i reserve the right to end auction before the 12 hour deadline. Then again if this ebayer wants to sell off ebay then ebay can't prove a thing, and yes your right the seller or buyer will not have any sort of comebacks if going private. But that will be their choice..
  • Of course it is allowed to end an auction early!

eBay might not like it and they may have something in their rules about it but that doesn't mean you can't do it!

FGS eBay isn't God you know!!!

It is also allowed to put up listings for pyramid schemes. However, it is not advisable.
