Station parking after midnight - daily rate per 24hours or calendar days?

I want to park at Grantham station which costs £9 per day (!).

Let say I arrive at 8am and pick up the car at 1am the next day.
Do I pay £9 or £18?

(Any suggestions on cheaper Grantham parking are also welcome)

  • Think its based on per day.
i.e. 00:00 till 23:59 each day, however you could argue that the last service is around 02:00-03:00 and so the "end of service" is not till then.
If you were leaving it until 4-5am then that would be two days.

Most tickets are as ticketcollector says per calendar day. They will have an expiry time of 2359 printed on them.

Though I'm not sure that many station car parks would be that zealous about having anyone go round checking at just gone midnight. So unless you have to put the ticket in a gate to get out you will probably be OK.

The car park on the hill on the road between B&Q and the station is cheaper than £9 per day.

Having been there I can now confirm Grantham station parking is £9 per 24 hours. The private car park nearby (near B&Q?) is £5 per 24 hours. So neither is per calendar day.

    Thanks for all your help
