Knocking through, electrical work and plumbing

I have been quoted the following prices for different bits of work. To be honest, they sound fine (the plumber price looks fantastic!!) but i wanted to run them past the forum before i commit!

£2k for knocking through one downstairs external wall (into ajoining extension) and install a RSJ (it is approx. a 2200mm opening) and knocking through one upstairs external wall. This is to form a larger kitchen and an ensuite. Price includes all parts and labour.

£1.8k for installing a new CU, a new ring main, 2 fans (including installation into wall), earth strapping, running cables for a kitchen (left under floor) and 6 lights fitting (not spot). Quote doesn't include sockets or lighting in new kitchen. Price includes all parts and labour.

£2.6k for replacing current boiler with a 'Vokera Unica 28HE combi' and moving into loft from kitchen - includes running new pipes for water/gas, roof kit, new rads in extension (5), new therms on all rads. Price includes all parts and labour.

£800 for the installation of a 7x7ft block wall. Price includes all parts and labour.

£450 for the installation of two stud walls (just the timber frame, no drywall or plastering etc) - 7x7ft. Price includes all parts and labour.

Could anyone advise on whether these prices seem okay? Sorry for the mass of questions!

Thanks a lot in advance!

If it sounds too good to be true, it may be.

    Where do you live?

Do you need to produce paperwork for what you are having done?

    Does the prices include this?

Are people doing the work suitably qualified / certified ?

    Do you have any references?

If you live in Scotland you will need a building warrant and / or planning permission.

Call your local council for advice before proceeding.
    baldly going on...

    Thanks for the reply baldelectrician.

I live in the North East. All the paper work is included, and i have checked the references for the people doing the work and certification etc (the buildings are master builders, the central heating guys are fully corgi registered, the sparky is part p certified and a member of the IEEE/IET), so it does all seem legit.

One thing i didn't mention is although this is subject to VAT, i have came to an arrangement with the electrician and plumber where the time frame is v. lenient, thus the cheaper prices (although i am still surprised just how cheap!). The knocking through, block wall build and stud work hasn't got this kind of arrangement, and is what i am most concerned about - £450 for a timber stud seems a bit excessive, as does £800 for a block wall! I might however be way off the mark.
