Good, i am glad xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I think your SOA looks pretty good. If you really are left with £100 per month I agree with the others about writing down Birthdays etc that this could be spent on and obviously it'll be handy having a bit spare in case of any emergencies which tend to crop up (certainly in my case they do anyway)
Sounds like you're doing well anyway xMoney doesn't make you happy so I'm skint but cheerful :beer:0 -
Hiya Bun, nice to see you have finally got your own thread
Everything looks pretty good so far... I agree with IA though, you need to look carefully at childcare vouchers, as you may be better off without.... also, I assume your benefits figures are for your single status rather than before?
What about maintenance from your ex?
Is your council tax over 10 or twelve?
Depending on how much money you have from your spilt, I would definately keep hold of some for emergencies. If you have up to date balances for all your accounts on your DMP, have a play with the snowball calc and see what a difference it would make to your DFD....
Lastly, I'm loving the new happy Bunny, I really hope things work out well for you and the kids

Hi Sarah,
The new tax credits are for my new single life! Yeah me...
(and YEAH tax credits really!)
As far as the vouchers are concerened, I shall double check to see their worthiness, thanks.
Maintenance for XOH is being paid directly to childcare provider-he's paying me £270 a month (or rather, my childminder...) I pay nearly £600 month in childcare so really, it's just as well going to her-I
d just be giving it to her anyway! lol
What I was thinking was thinking in regards to the money was to pay off some of the smaller debts (for example, Lloyds offered me a F&F of £1700 for a debt of £4300 so I thought that would be worth paying off-I was never in the position to take it up before) A snowball wouldn't apply as I am on a DMP and all my creditors have frozen the interest. I figure for around £5000 I may be able to reduce my debt by over £15k-thereby bringing my DF date much closer. I also would like to TRY and get on the property ladder one day. LOL! Get me!!!Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -
Oh, and Sarah,
Thank you. The 'new' happy Bunny does show up once and a while now-but the sad, lonely and scared one rears it's head just as much actually...Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -
One thing is will some of the creditors not be happy if you use the money to pay some of the others off (if that makes sense), someone more knowledgeable I'm sure can answer this, was just thinking if other creditors find out you paid say Lloyds off via a f and f settlement they might be annoyed you didn't use part of the money to pay some off their debt off?????Money doesn't make you happy so I'm skint but cheerful :beer:0

Not impossible to do so if you are determined. I think it will take a while, but then that is longer to save up a deposit, an plan and wait for better times. It is the done thing to rent at the minute, according to experts..so you are well in fashion.
You can always start a plan, have a look at the mortgage free wannabee board..It's good to have a plan.xBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
