Abbey - £40 charges for £0.04 OD

My OH just realised that he went overdrawn by 4p earlier in the month (for 1 day) and has now incurred two charges of £25 and £15.
What are our chances of getting these back and what is the best step - when he rang customer services!! they just gave him the number of a recorded message stating that all complaints about the charges had been suspended until the test case had been heard (thought that had been decided recently??)
We really can't afford the £40 at the moment - any help appreciated!

I had this same problem with natwest a few weeks ago only with my credit card - i went 5p over my limit and they charged me. I wrote them quite a snotty letter stating that they hadnt written to me, havent had any communication with me so where did that charge go. I basically told them there was no way they could justify taking all that money off me for such a little amount. They immediatly refunded it so i recommend you try that. I think there is also a link on here somewhere on how to reclaim bank charges.
Hope this helps - you should definatly get in contact with your bank about the matterBiggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Had same thing with Abbey back around Jan, rang them up and got charges withdrawn straight away with very little persuasion. Hadn't ever been overdrawn before (with them) and mortgage with them always paid - so if first time OH has gone overdrawn would say good chance.
good luck0 -

Contact customer services on 08457654321 not sure of the option - speak to a customer service assistant - explain whats happened and they should reverse the charges as they are able to reverse charges once every 12 months. If not, go into your local branch and speak to a personal banking advisor who can also do this for you.
