Yep. They are not a separate firm of solicitors.Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional0 -
Yes they do call themselves solicitors and use thick grey paper but if you check the address out its Lloyds! Also a while back if you search the forum there was an insider who used to work for Lloyds who confirmed they were in fact just another department within Lloyds.
They even posted the pattern they use for phone calls etc0 -

I'm doing a self-managed dmp and had similar problems with them . I found they didn't reply to letters unless I also faxed them a copies - in the end I suggested they took me to court as I could prove no missed payments and that I had responded to every contact made with Lloyds-TSB - I heard no more from them.
I think everyone is right - Lloyds are getting desperate and want to sell you a product.........I've even had a "dear values customer" letter from them and they are one of my biggest creditors!0 -
Thank you for all your responses, t helps knowing others are having the same problems.
Thanks again.

I just recieved a letter from these people today, I'm gonna inform CCCS whom I'm with for a debt management plan (was with the debt angel but was under alot of pressure with MBNA to swap, I have only just swapped but two payments should have gone through to Lloyds anyway) but the grey letter is the exact same format of all Lloyds letters just with the SCM details on top. I've had a stressful few months so I'm hoping I don't need to worry about this but from what I've read they're just using scare tactics.Debt Free: 24/05/2013!!!!
2014: A years supply of Ecover washing up liquid, Phantom of the Paradise steelbook, A selection of Ojon goodies, £500 ASOS vouchers.0 -
Could any one help me please. Today I contacted SCM to make a payment on my Blackhorse account and to arrange details for subsequent payments. If this arrangement had been accepted my loan with Blackhorse would finish before the original agreement date. My offer was turned down and i have been told by SCM to let my account go to court. I dont wish for this to happen is there anything else I can do0

SCM have been pounding my phone recently and today I plucked up the courage to call them - they offered to halve my debt if I paid off in the next 21 days; it's a pity I don't have £4000 to spare because I would have taken them up on their offer.
I was terrified of talking to them, but it was nowhere near as bad as I had let my imagination make me believe; some of them are human after all.0
