Mot Test
I have just realised my first MOT test is due whilst I am on holiday next week. I cant get it tested before I go.
My question is: does the DVLA (or whoever checks on these things) know it is due as it will be the first one? I know the certificates are all computerised and you cant get away with doing it late once you started, but I thought I might be OK as it is the first one.

So long as it's not parked on a public road just book it in for an MOT when you're back of your hols - you can drive it without an MOT so long as the journey is to an MOT centre for a test0

Make sure they take your reg number so you can prove you were going to a pre-arranged MOT in the worst case that the police stop you.0

DVLA does know when a car is due an MOT as their system checks VOSA's records when you tax your car. However, the DVLA are not responsible for penalties of no valid MOT.;)I am not a complete idiot - some parts are missing;)0

They've updated it a bit. Book in, make sure you not only give your reg, but also name and address and phone number. They are getting very strict.Genie

You can get it tested anytime you like, if it 30days prior to expiry, then the excess days can be added on, get it done before you go away?0
