Hope this is the right place.
VoipBuster are offering free PC to landline calls to a variety of countries including the UK, USA, Australia, and loads of others. Calls to mobiles in the US are also stupidly cheap, at 1 euro per minute.
Skype may start to rot now.
I started using it tonight, and it works well, esp with the 7 quid headset from WH Smiths.

Thanks. Its a great piece of software.
I couldnt work out why it was disconnecting me, until i went back to the home site, and read..To counter the misuse of our network and to reserve capacity for our genuine testers, we have limited our Free-Calls policy to 1 minute per call. If you want to enjoy UNLIMITED free calls, just register and buy € 5,- worth of credit.0 -

hey pricefighter,
i was wondering if you have tried the topupnow site as you have to dial a 0911 number which is £1.50 a minute?
Does the whole call last for 1 minute thus charging you £1.50 or is it likely to be more?
if its £1.50 for the total call it seens like a good deal for rining usa as it is 0p a minute?
sorry for all the questions....

Yes when you top up using the 0911 number you get charged £1.277 on your BT Bill plus vat.The whole process takes less then a minute. You then dial out using the 0808 access number.(No good if you have premium calls barred. ) Yes its just £1.50 for the call including vat.Which of course will give you lots of calls to the USA at just 5p connection.I find the line quality to be good also.PF.0 -
voipbuster has been providing the free calls for a while.
When I signed up 4 months ago, the criteria was to deposit 1 euro, and had more free destinations (including Canada) at the time.0 -
Used this software regularly with some trouble. One person I called said I had a voice like a Dalek but when I tried another call to the same exchage that listener reported excellent reception. Anyway, for free what can you lose????
Or can you?0 -

Reported.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

Free calls with VoipStunt
New users can try VoipStunt out for free for a total of 60 minutes. During this trial period you can only call the destinations marked as free. Register your account by buying credit in order to extend your free calls.
Registered users get max 300 minutes per week of free calls, measured over the last 7 days and per unique IP address. Unused free minutes cannot be taken to the following week(s). If limit is exceeded the normal rates apply. During your Freedays you can call all destinations listed as "Free" for free. When you have run out of Freedays, the normal rates apply. You can get new Freedays by buying credit0 -
We use voipstunt service with the PHONE to PHONE service.
Put in our land line.. It rings and on answering it can hear the ringing tone in the other country.
Gives you 300 mins every 7 days (since the last call) for 10euros for 120 days.
Then the connecrtion charge of 0.05c comes out of that 10 euros.
USed it for France and Spain. Quaity is good.0
