Hello.
Does anyone know if there is a website or service which, in the same way as a shopping comparison site does, would show you the cheapest courier to use for a parcel you need to send depending on the weight you enter?
Thanks.
Would also appreciate any suggestions for good services to use for someone who sends around 600 parcels a month weighing around 0.100kg each to UK and Worldwide destinations. Currently using Royal Mail and doubt they can be beaten on price for this weight.

ive just set up a website and and all of my packets are 200 grams and most large letter size and only worth about a £1.20 in value
im just starting up so volume sending would be very low start with
when i look at postage 1st class it is 78p and 2nd class 66p
is there anyway i could save on this

You need to have a large volume - several thousand a year I think - before you can get any discount. The only advice is to try to make as many items under 25mm thick so that they will go as large letters, but don't skimp on the packaging if they could be damaged.0

You can sometimes buy standard 1st and 2nd class stamps from Superdrug at a discount: they are 'worth' whatever Royal Mail are selling them for on the day you use them.
If you are eligible for a CostCo card and there's one near you, they sell large and standard 1sts and standard 2nds at a discount.
But I think there is a sticky on the Ebay board about sending methods which it would be worth reading.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Hi
With that kind of level of consignments esp if they are nice boxes which arent too heavy, Im sure you would be able to get a good rate off most carrier companies.
It depends what you want from the carrier, we use UPS at work and they are good price and have a very good tracking system and are global. TNT was a good price but our packages were too long for them to carry abroad, but like UPS have excellent tracking systems.
The bigger the carrier the better service you get as they pride themselves on their service.
The problem we have found with UK based carriers is that they subcontract out any none UK delivery and then accountability and tracking of the parcel gets a bit trickier!
I know this is really vague, but the price my company pays will differ to your quote as our stuff is 2.5m long and carriers hate to take it as it doesnt fit on their sorting equipment.
Good luck with your search0 -
LINKING TO ARTICLES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this: There’s an article on the main site you might like to read that gives more information on this subject.
There's a link from there to a discussion thread on the Ebay board, I believe.
And as we've had this question a couple of times just recently, I shall merge these two threads.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

For heavier consignments this is true, but I would think that you will never match PO rates for low weights that the OP wants to send (up to a kilo or so) even if you are sending hundreds a day.0 -
And dont forget of course that couriers charge VAT and Royal Mail does NOT charge VAT.........................0

There is a thing if you print if a font and sort own mail, then you can save money.Kind Regards
