ok...this ones got me beat
every time I click on a link to view an Mpeg it locks up...cpu usage shoots up to 50%
plenty of Ram on my PC (1gb) and Cpu is Pentium 4 3ghz
I've turned it off as an associated file type and it works fine with Quicktime or built in DVD software

post or pm me the link - maybe it's a generic problem and not just your machine?"Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." (Mark Twain)0

ok - i just played one from the first link with no problem (other than pointing it at WMP and not winamp
)
i'm running WMP 9.00.00.3250
pretty sure i don't have anything all that special installed codec wise (well not specifically for WMP anyway) - got the DIVX bundle on and probably most of the recent windows patches (that don't involve upgrading to version 10...) in that area...
i take it that the usage increase you mention is WMP? does it still work for other things or is all types of media causing this reaction?
is there a repair option for WMP that i can't see? otherwise - uninstall / reinstall or maybe try an upgrade if you have a version pre 10?"Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." (Mark Twain)0 -
I'm on 10
I'm going to give it a try in a sec
