why do sellers not show bedrooms apart from the one big one.is it because the size of the others are embarrassing.?

Is this the case because the four bedroom houses on these new estates the bedrooms are embarrassing. It would be illigal for a farmer to keep his pigs in places this size and yet we are happy to keep our kids in them..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

LOL or third bedrooms (*cupboards*) with boilers in them!!!

    Makes me mad!

Reminds me of one I viewed a while ago. Couldn't get round bed to see out window.

It's always wise to remember that despite the US also having a house price boom, ours was not only bigger overall but much bigger in terms of per square foot because our houses are TINY.

When I was younger I lived in a reasonably sized detached house which would be considered the 'top of the housing ladder' for many people yet it's probably just average sized in American terms. Right now I'm living in a semi-detached 4 bedroom (and a cupboard like 5th 'bedroom' :p) house which I find just as comfortable but I'd hate to live in anything smaller.

Unless it was my own apartment because to me it's all about how much personal space I have and to have a whole apartment to myself would feel better than sharing a house with someone, unless it was my partner I was sharing with.

Aren't there some sort of guidelines used for what a room size must be for foster children? If so maybe a minimum bedroom size should be imposed for sales purposes! (sort of joking here). I seem to remember minimum ceiling heights for slanting rooved rooms etc being brought in a couple of years ago, did I imagine that?

For me room size is kind important, I'd rather have fewer bigger rooms personally (even if it meant my furture kids sharing). BUT, I don't like open plan either, lol

The smallest I've seen recently that was actually described as a bedroom in the agent's particulars was 1.8m x 1.5m .....

I spend ages looking at room sizes and floor plans before deciding whether to view somewhere. If we can't fit in the beds and the books and the extra freezer and somewhere for the groceries, then there's no point wasting anyone's time looking.

In the olden days they were called "box rooms" and when you look around at your stuff, I bet you've got lots of boxes you've kept for things, in case you have to move or send them back.

That's all they're good for really. Just storage. Yet for years we've all used them as the small bedroom.

When I was growing up, I had the box room. 6'x7'. Good job we didn't have central heating or TVs/stereos in bedrooms back then - there'd have been no room for a radiator or TV!

    Only worth showing the best.

Also kids rooms are often too personalised for estate agents to value a picture.
