Convayancer Problems, what should I do?

Hello, I'm after some advice.

The conveyancers who we are using have caused us endless issues.

The solicitor who has dealt with us has been unhelpful, hard to get hold of and after constant battles we are finally due to exchange/complete this Friday.

She has blamed the buyers solicitor for the delay however I think she is responsible for a lot of this mess. Our estate agents who have called for updates from our solicitor also think she has been rude, obstructive and not a nice person.

I told her about a month ago I was at the end of my tether as this has been going on since early Jan and was going to notify the legal society.

Today I was informed by my estate agent that this solicitor had left the conveyancing company last Friday. I cannot believe I was not notified. I had wondered why she had not responded to an email.

I have spoken to a new solicitor who has advised me today that she is looking through the file etc, but I now think this throws a spanner in the work for Friday as I am not sure if the mortgage company etc has been notified. I think this is shocking, what would you do in relation to complaining? Do you think this would fall on deaf ears in relation to the legal society?

Yep it will probably fall on deaf ears. The Law Society have a complaints section about solicitors http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/choosingandusing/redressscheme.law

but I have grave doubts about their effectiveness or impartiality.

Make the complaint though.......it is the bes that you can do.
