Costco had a Panasonic Viera 37" for the same price TX37LZD80.
Gotta say I'd rather go for the Panny.
But for 3 inches less? I have not seen them side by side, but I remember back in the days of CRT and Video Recorders, Pannys had a good reputation for Video recorders and Sony's were supposed to be good for TVs. Not scientific, but I think a 3 inch reduction for a Panny is a bit of an ask given that they are all full HD, one is a Sony and the other is a Panasonic. Thanks for your thoughts.Do you make things happen, watch things happen, or just wonder, what happened?0 -
I know it's a bit smaller, but reading reviews the Sony has motion issues even through Blu-Ray.if i had known then what i know now0

I am out looking to purchase a TV, thanks OP good first post, but I have to say that I would much prefer to get mine from Costco. I know that if in 4 years time if I have to return the TV and even if I have lost the receipt, Costco will accept it. Any better offers?
i heard thru the gravevine that all electicals are now for one year as the system ahs been abused:EasterBun0 -
I bought this Sony from John Lewis about a month ago for £749 including a 5 year warranty. A few days later it went up to £849 so I timed it just right. I feel I get peace of mind ordering from John Lewis even though I've paid extra than the OP price.
I have Sky HD, a Toshiba HD-DVD player and can play Blu-ray through my laptops HDMI cable to the TV and although this is my first Full HD TV and my last TV was only 1080i I am very happy with the picture quality.Always looking for a bargain and to help0 -
Great price on this one too (tho' it's 'last year's model'), especially with the cabinet included in the price - pity about just 1-year warranty :-

Re: 40''SONY true HD inc 5 YR WARRANTY+DEL. £686 Ooh! This looks exciting. Does anyone know whether this has Freeview included, and if it does, would you be able to use a Virgin or Sky box as well?
Thanks for any help.0 -
The answer to all your questions is yes.
Freeview and analogue tuners, 2 scart sockets for Sky, virgin or DVD, two HDMI sockets for SkyHD, Virgin HD, Blu-Ray, HD-DVD, PS3 or Xbox 360.ac's lovechild0 -
