Gas Fire

I'm looking at getting this http://www.lowcostfires.com/product.asp?mode=view&pid=60
and wondered if anyone had one of these fires and what they thought of them, also wondering if anyone has used this company.
We currently have an open front gas fire with convection, but I beleive we are losing a lot of heat up the chimney, this one looks more economical as it has a glass front, it won't look realistic but in the current climate I thought it might save me money. If anyone can help please give me your thoughts

These are good fires but nowadays most people use gas fires mostly for decorative effect rather than efficiency. You really need a site visit from an Corgi engineer as fires that are bought by customers are notorious for being the wrong one for the job, try and find an RGI that specialises in fires because a lot are qualified to do fires but hardly ever install them, (like me).Mine needed a new fan so that must be whats wrong with yours:D0

I did ask the corgi installer and he reckoned that it was a pretty good fire, I need something for when the heating goes off as my husband feels the cold so thought this might be more economical, found one cheaper here but as I have no experience of buying a fire on the web, thought I'd ask if anyone has had experience of doing so

I bought a gas fire from:
http://www.fires4u.co.uk/
Good price. The first one was damaged by the courier, I phoned fires4u and they immediately sent another.
You usually only know how good a firm is when something goes wrong !
Would use them again.0 -
Thanks for the info, they have got them but I have to call for a price I'll give them a ring later0
