Why is oh funny about he loan if you took it out to pay for stuff for the house? That makes it his responsibility too doesn't it? Try and talk to him about stuff. It seems like you are at different ends of the spectrum in terms of finances! Happens to lots of us (me included) but he does need to help you out, you are a family after all!
I hope that doesn't seem too harsh, it just seems like you are the one who is trying to deal with everything. Of course you can't! You've no income! What does he expect you to do? Magic it out of no-where?

Totally agree Jak but its all my debt!! I ran this up when I was young and silly. He is actually offering to pay it all but that would land us in trouble. He pays the Egg loan and always has.

I guess that's coz it could, in theory, put you in a blackmailable (sp) position and so compromise your job
Just wanted to check as I work in finance and have had no repercussions.:hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -
I've just had a little read of this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=349197
And even though the impression it gives says that you can't go BR as a police officer, there may be scope depending on how your federation interprets it?
Might be worth an anonymous enquiry? (assuming this isn't an avenue you haven't already explored!):hello:Save a little money each month and at the end of the year you’ll be surprised at how little you have.An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind0 -
hi hun, can you contact CCCS and include the Egg in that from now? that would free up some money which could be spread over other creditors....
i'm no expert but i think don't CCCS like you to try and even spread out payments, i think you are favouring Egg just now at expense of other debts...
This is manageable babe, just need to think about things. Lots of people here have been in similar situations, or worse so please stick with it and you will get through it.
And as you know you are blessed with lovely OH and kiddies.
If some of the answers on here seem very to the point it's only cause these things don't faze any of us, as we've all been there before to some extent.

Laura, I have just re-read your new SOA, the way I see it, you have 8 months until you paid Egg off, not a long time, so if you got rid of sky and both mobiles, that is a saving of £80.00 per month, and you just need to find another £84 to pay towards your DMP, if cut down on the food bill by £40 per month, you just have £40 from your surplus to pay towards it, its not going to be easy but for the sake of your career and for 8 months, is it not worth a shot?"Wisdom doesn't automatically come with old age. I would be a bit cautious about telling CCCS about the Egg loan - I don't have any personal experience, but they might take the attitude that you should have told them about it at the start. I don't know whether they would or not, but just a warning to be sure before you jump in and do anything.
When you went into the DMP did you explain that you were on maternity pay? What was said about what would happen when your maternity leave ended? I'm surprised, because I didn't think you could go into a DMP if you didn't have any income to cover it, which is obviously the situation you are in now.
Are you absolutely sure that you couldn't earn enough to pay childcare? If you could go back and end up with enough to pay the DMP, at least, as the kids get older your costs should go down a bit so by working now at least you could continue in your career. If you don't see any chance of being able to afford to go back, even when the kids are at school, then maybe worrying about saving your career isn't a priority.0 -
Do the police force not offer the nursery vouchers, like Busybees etc.
Do you need the life cover, does your OH and you not get life cover with work?
They are not in a joint DMP."Wisdom doesn't automatically come with old age. Nothing does, except wrinkles. It's true, some wines improve with age. But only if the grapes were good in the first place." — Abigail Van Buren0 -
I have just phones the CCCS about my DMP, as I have been over paid and they are taking it back in two paymemts.
They were really helpful and have sorted it out with no hassel.
Talk to the CCCS and see what they say.

Hi Laura,
I suggest it's worth getting in contact with us ASAP to discuss your situation. If your income has reduced since you intially set up the DMP then you cannot be expected to continue paying creditors with money you haven't got. We'll be able to discuss any other options you may have in order to get out the situation you're in.
