Have DMP but can't even afford to pay that :(

I am with the CCCS and have been for a year now. I have a 10yr plan with them to pay back my 19k debts
Basically I started it a year ago whilst receiving mat pay from having my DD. I now have no income whatsoever and can't get a job as we can't afford childcare. I can't even get an evening job as my DP works very unpredictable hrs and I never know from day to day what time he'll be home.
I can't afford my DMP. DP has said he will pay it but he pays for everything else in the house and simply can't afford to do this.
What do I do? My creditors aren't helping at all as they haven't frozen interest ( i know they don't have to) but I know owe more money than I did a year ago! I feel so guilty at having these debts. All from when I was 18 and stupid. Any advice would be greatfully received.

I think you should phone CCCS and ask them as they will be able to tell you your options, it may be you can go back to token payments while you sort something out but I'm not sure. Dont forget it is only money, your child and your health are more important. CCCS must have had similar situations to deal with and they are very kind. good luck

firstly, is it your DMP and not your OH.

Can you contact the CCCS, they are a friendly bunch and will advise you on the next step.

Please post an SOA (incomings and outgoings) and we will see if we can help you reduce your joint outgoings in order to pay for the DMP.

Would you not be entitled to WTC if you worked, (I know what you mean by affording childcare, work doesn't pay for me either, so I am a SAHM, but it pays for some people to work, is your OH on a good income, I ask because that will affect your entitlement to WTC.

Yes DP is on a good income and we get next to nothing WTC wise.

I feel as if I am leading a double life! My DP provides so well for his family (myself, daughter and 6 month old son) and we do have a good life but then I have the worry of MY debt over my head. He cannot afford to take on any more including my debt. We don't have holidays or luxeries (sp!) and its not fair on him to pay my debt off. he already pays for an Egg loan I got which is £450 a month!

Will have a go now at a SOA

I will check back later after you posted your SOA, as regards to the WTC, personally I think it is an unfair system, why should I pay to go to work, it would cost me more in childcare than I would earn, all because they take into account my OH salary, for which I never see him, he is constantly working. I'm going to get slated for this, but I would be far better off money wise if I had no OH, my Sister is as a single parent, when will the government do anything to help us?

I may not have had a DMP, but you have my sympathies, you are between the devil and the deep blue sea as regards to earning extra income.

Firstly, is your SOA complete? Do you pay b uildinng insurance, life insurance, car maintenance i.e. car tax, I know it make your soa look worse but we need the full picture.

Your mortgage is huge, can you change to interest only for a wee while, or could you downsize? Do you have alot of equity in the home, I am saying this because bankruptcy will probably not be an option if you do.

Get rid of Sky today, its a luxury. How long is left on the outstanding Egg Loan and how much is it?

I forgot Gas and petrol/fuel /clothing, birthdays and christmas. Do you have a mobile phone? You have the internet, where is the figure for that?

I cant see the current DMP included at all? How much is it?

Does the DMP not include the Egg and CC as listed in SOA??

Maybe these could be included as part of the DMP if you contacted CCCS, thereby freeing up effectively £550 (or less) for DMP over all your creditors? no??
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....
