I have a nikon digital camera which I like accept for the time delay between pushing the button and the photo being taken.
Are there any reasonably priced digital cameras that take the photo immediately ?

Have a look at Ricoh Caplio R2
My family "put together" for my birthday it has just been to Thailand and I am absolutely thrilled with it. Found Picasa 2 and this week have watched endless slide shows of a fantastic holday, boring nobody at all!! Great little camera! xThe £2.00 Savers Club = £130.00 (Started Feb.06 -saving for a dream - to visit Thailand again!)0 -
Tightgit,
It depends on what you find acceptable in terms of delay. Most camera's to a greater or lesser extent may have a delay. (I have a £2000 camera which can "delay" as it needs to focus etc. With a SLR style cam, its obvious though as you can hear the motor as it focuses) Having said that some cheaper digicams are worse than others.
Most camera reviewers like Steve at https://www.steves-digicams.com or Phil over at https://www.dpreview.com will include picture taking times as part of their testing.
The only camera I've ever used which had no delay was a casio exlim but this was because it was fixed focus IE there was no need to focus the lenses....0 -
I have a Fuji F10 camera which has no delay or nothing you that you would notice. If you check the review's on this camera it is very very quick compared to most on the market. I also have a Canon A300 which does have a shutter delay, this is why I bought the Fuji F10, 100% better plus the pics are a lot better. Jessops have it at the moment for £229.99. Great camera for the money.

Thanks for your replies. I feel a bit stupid that I didn't look into this matter before I bought my Nikon, but we live and learn.
