Problems with 'buy now pay later' deal

I took out a BNPL deal last year which gave me 12 months free credit and then the usual horrendous interest rates which obviously I don't intend to pay.

However, having just looked at the final date for my interest free period I'm left with an issue - Basically this period ends at the end of August this year.

Looking at my original Loan Agreement it states that 'your payments will commence 12 months after either the date of this agreement, or, if later, the date of supply of goods/services.' However, the goods were part delivered over 3 deliveries - one in Aug 07, one in Nov 07 and one in Dec 07.

I know I should have double checked the paperwork earlier but do I have any standing in claiming that the interest free period should be Dec and not Aug ?

The total amount of the deal is for about £3K and obviously if I can keep off paying it for a further four months it's more money in my pocket.....or is it not worth the hassle ?

That wording would suggest that the amount due would be payable in 3 parts to match the dates each item was received.

I would probably write or call them to raise this with them.

Already rang the finance company - they say they'll change it if the supplier notifies them in writing.

Supplier has told me on the phone to basically get lost .......

Should I put my complaint/issue in writing to the supplier ?

Do you not have receipts of delivery?

There you go. Photocopy them and use them as your evidence.

OK, will write to them and send them as evidence.

They basically said on the phone that their policy is to send the finance forms off to the finance company as soon as the delivery is made (she did say that typically it goes in one delivery, but mine was an exception !!).

Legally do I have any standing ?

I would just write a letter stating that you refer to the section which states that the free credit will start from the later of the agreement and the delivery of goods. I would then refer them to the enclosed warranties which state the date of delivery and you would be very happy if they could confirm, in writing, that your interest free period will be either staggered in line with the delivery or that the period will be extended to the date of the last delivery.

See what their response is. I would do a softly, softly approach first and see what the response is. I would send all letters recorded too.
