hi,
iv got a 2hour movie on my computer that iv taken from my video camers andf it is on a AVI format and is 22GB, Big, i no!
Now, i want to convert it to a Mpeg2 movie file because thats the only way i can burn it onto a DVD +r disc. converting the file to a mpeg2 will also make the file smaller.
i will then have to compress the mpeg2 file furthur for it to fit and burn it onto a 4.7gb DVD disc.
any programes or softwares that can enable me to do this?
thanks in advance,
Skiddy

I can't recommend any of these as I've not used them, but download.com always have some good software to try (not many freeware these days). Once you've converted to an mpg file, search on download for a compressor.
Hope this helps.0 -

wow 22gb is big for an avi. I normally split video from a DV camera into more manageable chunk to edit scenes and add transitions them join them together and burn to DVD or back to V camera. I use Ulead videostudio 9 and Cyberhome powerdirector, but they cost. You can get a free trial of the latest ulead product, might be worth a try

Thanks for all the responses,
i managed it in the end by using the video editing programme that i used which was 'Adobe Premiere Pro', brought the 22gb file down to 3.49gb were as some programmes i used only compressed the file to 15gb, 11gb and 9gb which doesnt fit on a DVD.
Thanks again,
