Speed Trap Locations In France

Below are some addresses where you can see (and print out) locations of speed traps in France.

Before someone accuses me of being irresponsible, I should point out that these maps are published by the French government, and have beeen reproduced in newspapers here.

Also, some Brits may not be aware that France even has any radar traps, as they are a relatively new thing.

Since evidence in the UK seems to point to the reduction of road deaths because of speed traps, it could just be that someone on this Board may avoid an accident because they slow down.

Fixed-location French speed traps are placed at accident black spots.

It goes without saying that no-one - least of all visitors to the country - should consider breaking the law. I hope this spreading of the word keeps your mind on your speedo and your foot off the accelerator.

I wish all those members holidaying in France a wonderful, memorable and, above all, safe holiday.

The government sites, being official, are not quite up to date, and radarsfixes.com gives updated information, and shows where new devices are to be installed.

They also have a pretty, and pretty useful, map of speed traps at: http://www.radarsfixes.com/c_carte.asp?carte=F
