S/O house any ideas wether we can have decking..

I know i can just as easily ring them but it's not for the near near future so just thought this may be a quicker option! We are looking at getting decking on the lower part of our garden and wondered if it was something we would have to 'apply for' as such..i know major structural work we do but unsure really wether this is! df thinks we should just do it but ide hate to have to remove it if not..
Thanks for any replies

Most people would assume no permissions needed but my neigbour found out, a couple of years ago, that the decking he spent thousands on did need approval. The reason is because the back garden is quite high and on slope and visable from houses around even though they are possibley hundreds of yards away.

When the decking was completed someone complained to the planners who crawled around, took their time and eventually gave the OK. Whilst he was waiting for OK he was very stressed to say the least. So best put a call in to make sure as planners are very helpful.
