Thank you alfresco dave! My husband has a company car and is taxed heavily on it. He travels many business miles and his car is not a perk but a tool of his trade. He's currently reimbursed 11p per business mile and it is not enough! On his last visit to the petrol station he paid £65 and will be lucky to get about £50 back off his company. We're going to be seriously out of pocket. The 11p per mile needs to be increased to allow for the rising cost of fuel.0

Will any of that £65 of fuel be used for private mileage?0 -
The OP needs to speak to his company to adjust their rates.
But I imagine there will be a serious push for the likes of the OP to get more efficient cars in the coming years.
The other side of the coin is if it gets too expensive fotr his employer they might find ways to do without him.
The way things are going we will be back in the early 20th century wioth folk living within walking distance of their jobs this is just the start.
My other half works for a life assurance company and they are having to train the Indians on how to do their jobs prior to large scale redundancies. Bit like Turkeys voting for Christmas.0
