RBS Shares Rights Issue

Had all sorts of info through and can just about make sense of it.

Tempted to buy them at the offered price of £2 but can't seem to find out if I get any recompense for NOT buying them and the right being taken up by someone else.

Anyone who knows the facts be delighted to know!

    My understanding is that if you don't take up the rights, or sell your rights yourself beforehand, then they are sold on your behalf and you get the money from that.

    I have just wrote the cheque out for the full amount i am entitled to .They are only £2 a share they have to be worth more than that in 1-2 years .

    i have too, though its less than i thought i would have to pay out due to how i got the shares (sharesave and profit share) as one batch i dont have to pay for the plan owners are selling a certain amount to cover the costs and i get the rest

    That's the sort of thing people said about Northern Rock, Marconi, etc. It's £2 too much in my opinion. Good luck
