Gatwick to Wembley advice required

I've just spent over 2 hours trying to fathom out the the best way to get from Gatwick to Wembley (and back) next Monday. I'm going to watch the League 2 play-off final, which is due to finish just before 17.00, and I have to catch the 19.00 flight to Guernsey. It seems as though my quickest option is the tube from Wembley Park to London Bridge and then the train on to Gatwick. At Trainline they offer a bewildering array of price options (including 3 different cheap-day returns and 3 different "travel card off-peak" prices). The "help" explanations do little to clarify things. I went to the website of the train operator(First Capital Connect) but their on-line ticketing is run by the Trainline, so that didn't help.

I don't want to commit myself to trains at a particular time. My experience of cheap-day returns is that you can buy them on the day and that there's only one price. Why am I being offered three different prices? Can I also buy a return ticket for the tube? Which is the most economic way of of making these purchases?

I'd be really grateful if someone is able to point me in the right direction. Thanks

i think your biggest worry here is the time factor, not the price

so just get the tube like you say and be done with it....

and just hope and pray it doesn't go to extra-time

Just buy a one day travelcard at Gatwick which will cover you for the tube as well.

The cheapest one confines you to FCC trains from Gatwick to the zones, the next one Southern, the next one both Southern and FCC and the most expensive (which will be well down the list and you may not have spotted it) Gatwick Express.

I'd agree that you will be hard put to make the flight at all
