When I checked my credit file online yesterday, it showed I am using 87% of my outstanding available credit. This is not true. I am using about 20%-30% max. How long will it be until my credit file is updated to reflect this? I paid a lump sum off my lloydstsb duo card this and last month and reduced it from £2700 to £153. When will this show?
Also, although i've got satisfactory on each loan etc. My credit card shows I have late 1-2 payments in the last 31 months. When will this drop off? I've not had a late payment for AGES! Not since 2006.
Thanks for your help!

    Hi Jak,

Well Done in paying such a huge chunk off! :T

As for the late payments, I think it would depend on how many years the credit card agreement shows on your file - ie - my bank account with the Co-op only ever shows payments / in-credit balances, for the last year, so even though I've had the account since 2004, the rows of 'zeros' only show up for 2007 - 2008.

I think the late payments only actually come off fully (ie - even the original lender won't see them, as it'll be statute barred - old info) after 6 years from the date of 'satisfaction' of the account.

Sorry I can't be clearer and less vague, but I'm not 100% myself!

I'm sure someone will be along with more specific advice soon.

    Best Regards,

    Leigh :D

    PS -

As for the CRA not reflecting a true 'available credit' figure re the Lloyds TSB CC, I would call the CRA, be it Equifax or Experian and ask them to chase this up for you.
