Total time from first considering BR to walking out of court today, 13 days. Total (productive >>) time in court building: 1hr 5 minutes!
I never got away with the £150 court fee. There was far too much paperwork needed to back the application up that the £150 magically appeared from my back pocket, and not in a Paul Daniels way but in a far more professional style
I stuck my hand in and pulled it out like anyone would
What I did notice being the first there is that arriving later than court opening times will have you waiting longer. Crown court opened at 9:45 and I was there at 9:40. Got my papers checked over, stamped, and told that the Judge doesn't wish to see petitioners any more, just the paperwork ( direstraits). Sent upstairs I seen the usher who took my file and went off. Less than two minutes and he'd returned it but what he never said was "that's it, you can go back downstairs now", so I sat there for just over one hour before he informed me "your papers are signed, you can go...." Him having only handled them for two minutes I thought it was to register me as waiting or similar?
Reaching the court reception again I handed over the file and another nice person took it away for no longer than 4 minutes, bringing it back with the BR 'certificate'. No sooner was that done that I was taken into a side room to talk to the OR over the phone. (TBO this was the bit I was dreading but it was a breeze.) The woman on the phone was exceptionally pleasant and reassuring that I am now free of debt and that everything is now in their control. She did ask if I had either property or a car to which I answered no, and again she reassured me all is fine and that in no way should I try to make payments to creditors or let bailiffs on my property. Superb!
I've just to wait for the OR to get in touch but I have little assets and am between jobs, so hopefully all will be straight forward. The hurdle I were most nervous about are now over, the court & the first contact with the OR.
I wish that the arrogant barstwered with short man syndrome from Mackenzie hall could call me right now, oh how I would get my revenge
Who's drinking what, its on me :beer:0 -
