Currently, the offers are for September.0 -
The Science Museum is great for families, we went last year when kids were 7 and 4, loads to see and do and is FREE. Also free is the Natural History Museum next door as my son loves Dinosaurs. Science Museum has a nice picnic area in the basement so you could take in your own food if you want.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

The half-price ticket booth in Leicester Square is thriving - you can only buy on the day. If you sign up to Showsavers (https://www.showsavers.co.uk) they send out regular lists of cut price deals - often better than half price.
If you've not been on the London Eye, it really is worth it - so is pre-booking to save having to queue.
Hope you all have a great time!0 -
London for Free
Click on this site, gives you some great things to do in London for free! It's not perticulalry well made but the content is worth it.
Enjoy your visit...quick tips though:
Avoid black cabs like the plague unless you've taken out a second mortgage
Don't get into mini-cabs if you haven't specifically booked it - most of the ones trying to pick you up in the street are illegal cabs and certainly not safeTreat others as you would like to be treated :A0 -
another vote for science museum...all the museums. Our kids had a lot of fun for nothing.
By the time we did a tour of all the usual tourist stuff (Buck House,Houses of Parliament etc) the weekend was all gone.
Not sure how old your family is, but a tour of the house of parliament is good...and can be free depending on how nice your MP is. We did it and the kids loved it...seeing all the things you see on TV...x x x0 -
http://www.whatsonstage.com/dl/page.php For meal and ticket deals.
The Times are currently doing a Wine & Dine deal recommend you get The Times everyday for the rest of September and collect the required 4 tokens. This will get your whole family a good deal at london restaurants including Gary Rhodes new W1 restaurant.
Next best is https://www.toptable.co.uk fabulous deals i.e. 50% off in some very good restaurants. Competition is so tough in london.0 -

If by late October you mean school half term, then a lot of the discounts won't be available.
Back to my standard advice for London
