What will happen?

 I am currently a single parent with a two year old i recieve tax credits and income support and child benefit and was wandering i am due to have a baby in july how much will my benefits go up by? I am very stressed as i was abandoned by my partner and have just about managed to scrape by and live on a very strict budget i dont know how i am going to support this baby so having an idea of what i will get will help me make a new budget and atleast give me some idea of what i am looking at financially.

Any help appreciated

    Hi there,

    go to https://www.entitledto.co.uk

You can enter all your details and get an idea (although I think in my case I may have made a mistake as it seems they will be throwing money at me willy nilly)

I don't know about tax credits or income support but your child benefit will go up £12.10 per week.

You can also claim the maternity grant of £500 - your midwife will give you the forms (they have to sign it for you as well). You can claim it from a certain point in your pregnancy (can't remember, sorry) or up to 3 months after the baby is born.

Have you tried putting your details into entitledto?

I don't really want to post on here what I receive but if you pm me I'll send it to you.
    I'm a single parent with 2 children.
The only difference is child tax credit is a little higher for children under one, but It'll give you a good idea.

you can claim the grant from 29 weeks, its taking on average 2-3 weeks to be processed tho, dont forget to claim your extra milk tokens for being pregnant (its only 1 token a week but every lil bit helps).

if you go on child tax credit site and put that your baby has already been born (wen i checked to see how much i will recieve for my first baby i put date of birth as a few days before) with your other childs details then they should give you a very close estimate on how much you will get (this wont affect your claim as dont ask for personal info) -

as far as i am aware your income support will not go up up as you should already be on lone parent single rate which is £60.50 per week
