This doesn't beat the unlimited time offer 'Techie Board Deal'.

Here you can get advice on any computer related issues, and if you give us an idea of what programs you would like. I'm sure we could come up with a list of free downloads that will do the job for you (there is a lot of free software out there if you know where to look).

    How's that for a deal?

  • yes, i totally agree with you and really appreciate it as i have been helped many times.
reason why i queried was that at times in the past i have been unable to access my computer, i have xp and it has crashed or closed down and besides not being able to access the internet i have not even managed to open windows. which resulted in me taking numerous visits to comet with my comp. case to try and sort the problem out. and, having to deal with uncooperative comet staff. - i did have a warranty.

The thing is..........Computer problems are so varied, that you would be lucky if your specific problem is covered in a manual in enough detail to help you fully. If you had manuals for just one operating system (especially windows) that covered all the possible problems/causes/solutions. You'd have a stack of books from floor to ceiling!

Try the free trial and cancel before they charge you. This way would wont lose any money, and may still find it helpful.

  • it seems like quite a thick manual and if i dont need to use it within 6 week period, it would cost a lot in postage to return it.
dont really know if and when im going to have problems (never, i hope) and like yu have suggested , it may not evern cover the problem.
so think i'll give it a miss
    thanks anyway
