Old georgian window frames repair or replace?

Your existing window/s look single glazed with external wooden beads and small panes (probably thicker than the originals)
It is possible to remove beads, reputty, and repaint the wood, I cannot tell for certain but they dont appear rotten. cost, depends on a local painter, £120-150 per day should do it
"Bodge it and scarper", double glazing shiny plastic perhaps £300- £500 depending on specification and if its just one window to change or one of many.
Professional replacement sash window installers with BBA, SBD, EST recommended, GGF members may charge £1400 but unlike the other options, may well improve the value of your home.
Who was it said, "nobody regrets investing in quality, in the long run, its cheaper than buying the cheapest"
sashmanBuying quality goods which last, should be an investment that saves money. :T
Buying cheap products which fail, wastes money and costs twice as much in the long run. :mad:0 -
hi there,
I have just moved into a property with Georgian windows and need to change them to double glazing. Do i need permission from the council to replace them or can i just go ahead and change it as long as they look the same?
Thanks
