bank charges question

hi I am fortunate enough to only had bank charges once or twice in the last few years and had a few of them waivered by the bank staff after a bit of in person pleading!
however Im having a major cash flow problem at the moment and went over my overdraft last month, only by a few pounds but was charged £50  which was then reduced on request to £25
....unfortunately this has happened again this month and this time by more money (£45 overdrawn as it stands)and for a longer time ...so far 4 days and unsure when I can credit as I am waiting for some backdates benefits due to a health problem stopping me from working and being left with absolutely nothing in the meantime:mad: . It is pretty much common knowledge about being able to reclaim back unlawful bank charges but if it is still claimable why are banks still charging? anyone know if the charge will go up for everyday Im overdrawn and if I can still claim these charges back?
