What can I take in Hand Luggage to USA

Not sure what I can take on the plane in my hand luggage ? flying with Continental to morrow. I dont mean the weight. Can I take my camera, mob phone, ipod, etc ?
i have my clear plastic ( resealable bag ) can i take make up in there . Lipstick ? mascara ? make up wipes ? lip gloss ?
what about bottled water if i buy in departure Lounge ?

yup you can take all of your gadgetry with you onboard, when I go away im sure the security staff think I work for dixons will all the goodies I take with me, just remember they will need to be removed from your carry on bag before they go through the xray, also remember to keep an eye on the items too, personally I dont move until I see the items enter the xray.

You'll be fine with lipstick etc, just chuck everything in your plastic bag and keep it out of your carry on.

Anything you buy airside, ie after security, is safe, aparently, so therefore bottles of water etc you buy will be fine, one of my tighter mates actually takes empty bottles with him and fills them up from the drinking fountain past security, each to their own i guess.
