Hey guys
I have been posting on MSE for a fair bit now but I have never been sure how to do one thing:
When I want to put a link in my post, I click on the insert hyperlink button and enter my url. This is fine and shows the url to everyone but how do you make it so you just click on the word you enter and it takes you to the url - for example I just write Amazon - and you can click on Amazon to go there rather than having to click on a really long link - I hope someone understand what I mean?
Cheers
Josh ;D

Generally - the simplest way to make use of the majority of the buttons is to type what you like as per normal....THEN highlight it with your mouse+click(s) or shift+cursor keys and THEN click on the appropriate button....
It automatically formats it for you and you DONT need to worry about typo's, getting it right...etc....! Once you get familiar with the encoding used, you can happily type them in yourself later...- Lots of examples in this post !! !
All hail our MSE hero
Do hope everybody doesnt go formatting crazy

The above should work on Internet Explorer-based browsers. Unfortunately if you do that in Firefox browser, it just adds the codes to the end of the text."...And I gave that man directions, even though I didn't know the way, 'cause that's the kind of guy I am this week." -- Homer Simpson0 -
Cheers managed to do it! ;DThe main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing:)0
