Have you ever sent them a statute barred letters (for debts on which you have not paid anything in the last 6 years)?

Okay , first thing DO NOT PHONE THEM . If as you say there's been no contact for over 6 years , it statue barred . I would reply to the letter using only the ref number they use , do not confirm address or your name . Write that you have no knowledge of any debt to there company , and suggest they check the details with there client . Do not sign letter . I had this from two companies , heard nothin since , been 14 months!
  • no i havent , i dont even know what a statute barred letter is or what it means sorry . i havent contacted anyone about the debt for 9 years possilby 10

If they have sent a real SD, that would not be wise. You need to respond within 18 days, as otherwise, they could in theory take action with no further notice.

Debt doctor put it really well in one of the links above.

Please talk to NDL - contact details here http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/loans/debt-help-plan#help

And send the letter they advise.

thanks for your advice . 1 question why do anything if there just using this as a scare tactic , why bother sending letters off, if they are not going to see it through when the debts 1500 pounds
