Hi people
Been looking for a new dvd player with 5.1 surround facilites (need speakers too) and came across these on ebuyer which all play DivX too.
Can any of you guys advise me which is the best one out of these and if they have true 5.1 surround?
Also a link to a nice set of 5.1 speakers would be good too
Thanks

Do you actually need a DixX player?
Otherwise Richer Sounds are very good for top brand names and unrivalled customer service:

Nah not really but just thought for about £10 more it might be worth it0

Was gonna go for the Kiss DP 1000 but read some bad reviews about it.
Can anyone recommend another 5.1 surround DVD player.
It needs to be no wider than 35 cm really though and most of the above ones are 43cm :0(
Help me please0 -
Hi guys
Still not sure what to go for but I also came across these 5.1 Home Cinema Systems and wondered if you could tell me if they are any good?
Tosumi TOHT501S / Home Cinema Kit - http://www.247electrical.co.uk/epages/twentyfourseven.storefront/EN/Product/TOMTOHT501S?STS=247&source=KELKOO
H&B DX3255 & SH155 / DVD MPEG-4 Player plus FREE 5.1ch Speaker System
http://www.247electrical.co.uk/epages/twentyfourseven.storefront/EN/Product/HBDX3255_SH155?STS=247&source=KELKOO2
I noticed that the Tosumi says it has a decoder built in but it doesnt mention DivX. The other one plays DivX but doesn't mention decoder
Confused now

wackojakouk, as the H&B model comes with speakers I would guess that the decoding is done onboard the DVD player - but can't be sure of that.
I can't help feeling that for the cost of these two machines, and the fact that it includes the ampflication and all the speakers, that the performance is going to be less than impressive......
I would be inclined as gizmoleeds has suggested and look at Richer Sounds. They've got a Sharp DVD player for £29.95. They do an Eltax A/V receiver for £69.95 and Sony 5.1 speakers for £49.95. OK, this more than the other systems, but will be much, much better. If that's too expensive, buy a pair of Ariston bookshelf speakers from Richer Sounds for £9.99 a pair and use the A/V receiver in stereo mode. OK, it's not surround sound - but I'll guarantee that it's better quality sound. You can then add speakers as and when funds allow until you've got the full blown surround sound system.
I appreciate what I've suggested may be more expensive (and this is a money saving site!) and bulkier than what you've looked at, but if you buy something and you're not happy with the sound of it then it's not so much a case of money saved but wasted. Try and listen first if you can.
PoldoWhen I die I want it to be in my sleep, like my Grandad ............ not screaming and shouting like his passengers!!0
