I love those Lakeland green bags - they work like magic and you can wash and reuse them hundreds of times. Well worth it.0

What size of bags do you use? I would really like some to hopefully help cut down on waste but can't work out how much each one will hold. Is it best to go for the large ones or are the small ones sufficient? Thanking you very much0

So there I was looking at "new posts" and up popped my broccoli thread from yesterday haha!!!
Well just for the record, it actually tasted just as nice as a "fresh" broccoli!!!
In fact I cut it up and still have half left over for tomorrows dinner!!!!! Now thats MS!!!!
Wonder if my bacteria free fridge freezer had anything to do with it?!?!0 -
It could be all the nasties they spray on it while it's growing. I hope you washed it well.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0

That was my first thought too! My broccoli starts going mouldy after a week or two in the fridge!
I ended up throwing out mouldy courgettes and aubergine today that I'd forgotten about, what a waste!!!:wall:

The size bags I have are 10'x15', which I think are the smallest. I've found them to be fine with most things. Actually, as I recall, I think I may have got them as a 'free gift' from Lakeland, when I ordered something one time!
DutchyToto, something tells me we're not in Kansas anymore......0 -
I too had green bags from Lakeland as a free gift. I keep stuff in that I need to keep longer, chillies, ginger and garlic are normally in that bag. Turnover of other things is usually OK.
Why not find someone else who wants some and share a pack, they really do wash and reuse very well, I would go for the large ones on the grounds that they are more likely to fit in what you want. You can still put small items in them."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Thanks, I may order some tomorrow and give them a go. If they help keep food fresher for longer than that has got be a good thing!0
