Think this is worthy of a new thread!
Emailed CS via the online banking on Monday night, as wanted to know if it's possible to post cheques into them, like you can with ING for example.
Wednesday got following (heartsink) reply to my online account mailbox:
Dear Sir/Madam, (hello, check my name!)
Thank you for your mail.
I have forwarded your request to the relevant department. They will process your request.
Regards,
Service Manager
Which as we all know means...???
Anyway today received to my registered email address the following:
Thank you for your email.
We would like inform you that we do not accept cheque to be put in your account after your account is opened. You can transfer funds from your linked account using Internet Banking.
If you would like to transfer funds from any other account, you can do the same by using the Internet Banking of that account. You just need to mentioned your HiSAVE account number and sort code of ICICI Bank UK which is 30-00-81.

So result! Will mention that in my original message I did creep up to them, i.e. thank you for your help so far in setting up my account with you, so maybe that's the answer. Anyway thought it's only fair to show they are really there, and do sometimes do their job! Not trying to rub it in for those struggling with them, but maybe they are turning the corner?

Not quite the whole story, I did reply to their response this evening, as I had also ask them to confirm my R85 form had been processed. Now got reply back within 3 hours! (and yes it has been, so at end of month I better get gross int)0

Although I have been mightily unimpressed with my initial experience of dealing with ICICI, perhaps things are looking up.
Given the comments on this board about automatic cancellation of DDs, I made 3 transfers by BACS, (one even from an unlinked account!). Very straightforward - the last one arriving in 2 days!
I have personally found the Knightsbridge office very helpful recently.0
