Best optimum space-saving heating system for 3 bed?

Hi again - after reviewing various systems of GCH, I'm thoroughly confused!

I have a small 3 bed terrace (really 2 box rooms and a double), galley kitchen and single bath with electric shower. I live here on my own, but would like to 'plan ahead' and install a good quality boiler system that would provide for a family of 4 should I ever sell the place.

I'm now under the impression that combis are really only for smaller places like flats, but would like to free up space by getting rid of the hot water tank in the back box room. If necessary I could relocate it under the stairs, as there's not much there at the moment.

Assuming I have 'normal' water pressure, is there a system that would provide for a family of four? (assumes several showers/baths a night, plus running hot water while someone's in the shower!)

I have 7 radiators, with new-ish plumbing, if that helps, and the house has just been re-bricked to modern thermal standards.

Good morning: Despite what you might have read, combis are not the enemy;) and are in the majority now for new installations. My OH installs regular, system and combination boilers without prejudice, it all depends on the customer's DHW/heating requirements and the site survey. We have always had combis in our own homes (including a large 3 bed Victorian stone semi) as we prefer to have instantaneous hot water and to not heat a cylinder of water for the better part of the day thus saving energy and money. Combis are not limited to flats...for example the Vaillant Ecotecplus 937 storage combi or the Alpha CD50 are designed for larger properties with high DHW demands.

    Horses for courses.

Cheers CH, I'll send you a postcard from Vancouver if I can save enough up for the flight this year!

Hi..we're planning a long visit to Ontario and BC but it will have to wait until 2009:sad: ...Vancouver is a great city (and I'm saying that as a Torontonian:o )

    Enjoy!
