Tax Credits and Job Seekers Allowance - Confused!
floundering
Hi, I'm new here and getting confused with the whole CTC/WTC and JSA.
Bit of background - I live with my partner (we're not married) and my 3 kids. He works part time 8 hours a week and I work 14 1/2 hours a week, term time only plus do 4 hours a week self employed. So we get CTC and WTC. It looks like I'm about to lose my job due to staff cuts and don't know where I will stand with my WTC and JSA? Will I get JSA (I don't pay NIC as I'm on minimum wage in my job and have a small earnings limit exemption with my self employment)? And will my self employment confuse things even further? Would it be a joint claim with my partner's savings etc taken into account or is it just stuff in my name as we are not married?
Very confused with the whole system and worried I will be a lot worse off while I look for a new job. HELP!!
