I too had the new itunes, its absolutely naff, so I deleted it via add/remove programs
in control panel, also quicktime, and then manually deleted it aswell (anyleft over folders and files) and re-installed the old version that I saved to disk.0 -
I have just tried going back to my old version, but that same error message is coming up when I am trying to install my old version.
Any ideas whats causing that problem ?****************************0 -
Yep you will have to delete any refernce to it, but you will have to sign into your account again as long as you can remember the usernam and password I can walk you through it and you might wanna make sur you have copies of your music, the walkthrough isnt that bad0

MMmm, seems a bit scary to me !
If I delete everything to do with itunes and download it again, would that work ?
I went back a couple of days to a restore point but thats not worked
and not its coming up with an error asking if I have specific privilages to start and says bonjour ?!
Is it a full moon tonight ?****************************0 -
Ok if you are using XP try this
Remove both itunes and quicktime by going to Start, Control Panel,
Add/Remove programs, now remove them both.
Now for the important bit.
Start, Search, All Files and Folders, (all or part of file name) = itunes
Look in = Local hard drive C:\
Click on the down arrow near more advanced options.
Put a tick in search hidden files and folders.
Now click search
What ever appears in the left hand pane after the search
you can manually delete. i.e right hand click any iunes file
and choose delete, restart the PC, and re-install itunes.
Download it first and save to disk then install.0 -
I have 255 itunes files (some are from the web though ) do I delete them all ?
Also, when I went to remove the programmes, there were no itunes there.
If I restored it to an even earlier point, i.e a week ago, would the original version not be there without the new one which has obviously confused things ?****************************0 -
delete them all as webpages dont matter and no the lod version wont be in a restore point, basically you are staring a fresh, you can also download and run http://www.ccleaner.com/ then this will clean up your PC somewhat then redo the search as above and yes delete them.
If you want the old previous version of itunes I can send it via email to you
if you Private Message me your email address0 -
I have PM'd you
