Who said anything about litigation that is for trading standards to decide if necessary or not, I was pointing out the fact that the shylocks out there actually rely on people NOT reporting incidents in order to continue smart practice, I even went out of my way to state I did not think or know if there was anything amiss here, and if not then there is nothing for the company to worry about if a genuine mistake has been made no action will be taken other than a record of the incident which would prevent the same excuse being used on subsequent occasions. It's the I'm alright Jack attitude that allows overpricing and conning of consumers to flourish on our high streets day in day out. I like to think that once having sorted out my particular problem I don't leave it behind for others to unsuspectingly suffer a similar experience.
This by the way is not a rant just an explanation of what I though I had already made clear in my original post. I wonder how many other people have been into this establishment and paid over the odds for produce, I also wonder if the issue has now been corrected or the overpricing is continuing, if the matter is reported it WILL stop if not it MAY stop, I prefer to be proactive rather than reactive.
And if you need proof then just take a look at the Tesco misprice thread you will find products on there being overpriced four or five weeks after the branch being notified and a refund and replace given, this is because Tesco are aware that the bribe (refund and replace) given to those who are astute enough to notice will ensure they DON'T report it to Trading Standards and allow them to continue ripping millions of shoppers off whilst handing out a few sweeteners to a mere hundred or so! Tesco are not alone in doing this there are plenty of others out there.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
I quite agree that if this is happening mailicously then the person that is doing it should be stopped and persecuted - but if, as I said, it is just human error, then a simple correction would suffice.
I accept that reporting this to TS would correct the issue and stop other people suffering the same fate, but maybe I'm naive in thinking people are inherently good but there you go

TS wouldn't make Pizza Hut's life hell on this one incident anyway, and certainly not without giving some friendly advice first. This litigious society has also given the consumers, ratepayers etc the Enforcement concordate, basically heavy handed law enforcement cannot be used for minor infringements. Something's gone wrong, who's to say this isn't an isolate incident, new tills, software? A single complaint at the affected outlet won't necessarily solve the problem.:idea:I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about:idea:0

It is exactly because I know TS won't make a mountain of a mole hill that I advocate reporting, so that anyone who is not normally of a mind to have a confrontation on site or perhaps entertaining guests and doesn't want to come across as a cheapskate for instance, can know that they have done something towards resolving the issue and not leaving those that come behind to suffer a similar fate, TS will look into it and yes the manager may not even be aware of the situation and will continue to be unaware until someone points it out, we all walk around presuming it should be someone else these days.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

Unless PH has changed coniderably in the last 6 years since I worked for them, they take complaints to the the manager very seriously - indeed I have seen knives held to the managers throat about certain things.
To just talk to the manager costs nothing and sorts out 99.9% of problems - why cause problems that probably don't exist just for the sake of making yourself a few quid - or maybe you see it as helping other people.
Speak to the manager and if that doesn't work - complain to head office or TS - I'll even give you the address0
