Need a new hoover

Our hoover is on its way out - any advice on a MSE purchase? We have a mixture of rugs and wooden floors and there is an asthmatic in our household so we'd like something powerful to get rid of the dust.
Advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Lorna

We also have asthmatics in the house. This vacumm cleaner is very good and has a brilliant suction. I know a lot of people don't like Dysons but i have always loved them.

I love my Miele Cat Dog plus. I had two Dysons before it and the suction is way better on the miele. I found going back to bags rather than bagless made the whole emptying thing much cleaner, it comes with different heads which cope with all our different floorings really well.0

My Miele is somewhere in the region of 13 years old and still going strong.0

I've henry and a miele. for sucking up lumps, gravel and car dirt I prefer the Henry, for carpets or anything that does not involve spot suction, the mieleGOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time.

I've just bought a Bissell upright vacuum cleaner as I've been so impressed with my Bissell wet carpet cleaner.
Reduced by £100 to £99 from Comet and it's marvellous....I've had Dysons in the past and been happy with them but the Bissell is super powerful - great for stairs and the dreaded cat hair!!
I have both carpet and hard floors in my house and the Bissell does both fantastically.

I have just bought a reconditioned Bissell 2X for only £126 quid of Bissell's UK shopping site 'Bissell Direct'. It really is pretty effective at getting out all the muck I have put into our carpets!
Also check out this thing on there called a Flip-Ease its saved us a lot of hassle in the kitchen at home.
It's the cheapest place I have found online so far for Bissell stuff.0 -
has to be a dyson, none of the others can match it in our opinion, also a 5 yr guarentee0
