Only becasue we are going to be homeless in 7 weeks when our sale is completed!!
My other half is dead against renting, as he feels we would be paying off someone elses mortgage! Looking at the prices of renting it seems that we would be paying the same as we would on a mortage.
I also don't think I would feel that settled renting, knowing we would be on the move again! This next house is somewhere where we want to settle and stay for several years!

If it costs £6,000 to rent for a year, but you can buy your ideal home for £18,000 less in a year's time, then is it good money after bad, or not?

You have to do your homework on how much the market will reduce by.
Then use the information to negotiate with the housebuilders.;)

Balance 1st November '09 = mortgage paid off with £1903 left over. Title deeds are now ours.

Do you have some inside information here?? ;-)

Traditionally one third land, one third building costs and one third profit.

Work it out for yourselves. The big boys cut land and building costs much harder than that.
