No Claims Bonus- used twice?

My mom has 4 years NCB- but on the policy for her own car. This obviously brings the price down.

However, I am getting my own car and need to have mom on my policy as she will be using my car (and it also brings down my premium). I'm 26.

My question is this:

On filling in the forms on Confused (etc), it asks if she has any NCB. Can I say that she does, or is it only useable on one policy? i.e- can you use your NCB on more than one policy?

Thanks.

You're obviously putting your policy in your mum's name - it wouldn't ask if you were putting her on as a named driver.

This is usually 'fronting' and can result in your insurance being voided.

Get your own policy, put your mum on as a named driver and build up your own NCB.

NCB can (usually) only be used on one policy at a time.

No, the policy quotes I've had so far are in my name. Mum will be the main driver- genuinely.
In this case, does the NCB question relate to me?

If the policy is in your name you will be classed as the main driver and your mum the named driver. It doesn't matter who drives the car the most.

The no claims bonus is your Mums and as a named driver on your policy it isn't used.

Even though she uses it on her own policy for another car?

    You can't use it twice.

As a named driver you won't be asked about her no-claims status just if she has any points on her licence any claims in the last five years.

It will be you the policy holder who will receive the no claims for this policy if you are claim free after twelve months.

    .

That is not correct Policyholder and Main driver are two completely different things, The main driver is the person who drives the vehicle the most and the policyholder is obviously the person who holds the insurance, the two can, thought are not always the same person
