car insurance claim..

At the begingng of Feb i was involved in a car crash, the other driver was at fault and has admitted so, My insurance company payed out to the value of my car to my finace company. I know i can claim back the excess that my insurance company took but what i would like to know is as the other driver was at fault and I have now had to go out and buy another car at my cost can i also claim this amount back??

call me nieve but why should i be any worse of because some tw*t wasnt paying attention..?:confused:

  • You can claim back your xs no problem.
    However, because your insurance company - i presume your car was written off - paid out the value of your car to the finance company, the claim is now closed.

    You wouldn't really have a leg to stand on if you tried to claim back costs of a new car.

  • No problem. I know how you feel too.
    In Oct 06 I was hit in the rear by some fruitloop who wasnt paying attention and didn't seem to know what those two red lights mean at the back of my car. Caused £1500 of damage and severe injury to my neck that I've been told I won't recover fully from :(

    So it's a big thanks to that person from me!
